    This can be done on a pc, but I am looking for a mac OS answer. I would prefer mov 4:3 (or to be able to set defaults)

    I could be being stupid, but Im not sure what your question is here; are you saying you want to capture footage over firewire from a device? How do you mean ‘auto record’?

    yes, I want to capture a mov at 2:00 pm (on Saturdays), from the deck that the mac is connected to. I do not want to render to mov, it should capture to mov.
