I was hoping that someone might know of a squash and stretch script for After Effects CS4. Please let me know if you do – I could really use it!
    Thank you 🙂

I’m working on some motion graphics pieces for CTV that require multiple objects popping up at the same time. Of course it can be done by hand (which I have been doing) but I was hoping that someone might have written a script like EaseWiz that could do this automatically (saving me a lot of time). 🙂

Take a look at motionscript from Dan Ebberts (bouncing ball revisited)
    or,
take a look at the AE-Expressions forum and do a search for “squash”

You can use Expression Controls and link all of your layers to the control layer.
A script would not be my first choice for such things.

I’ve used this one from Dan Eberts’ site several times. I love his site. I don’t know anything about expressions but I rarely have a project that doesn’t have at least something that I learned here.

Hi, before all sorry about the english(I am Brazilian)
I want to know if there is some expression that could stretch a layer according with the curve velocity. for example, if the object moves 10 pixels horizontaly the scale change is equal to x=110 y=90 and if move vertically 20 pixels x=80 and y=120. i think its could be useful, because its like a cartoon effect. thanks.

I have been looking for the same thing. Animating by hand is not an option for 30minutes of bouncing ball TV animation.

A script that squishes by an amount as it hits each keyframe (.sin with decay) then unsquishes as it leaves that keyframe would do the trick but I wouldn’t know where to start.

The script above https://www.motionscript.com/expressions-lab-ae65/squash-and-stretch.html was a great starting point for a single movement but I’m sure with help from the peeps here we could get it to help our bouncing balls.

I still haven’t found an answer for this to date (2014). There must be a way for us non-scripties!

I also often have to animate bouncing balls on text, manually S&S is not even a consideration with thousands of bounces per syllable of each word.

I’ve done it manually before and it looks lively and awesome, but that eats up production time. Dan’s scrtipt is amazing but can only be applied directly to the “sprite” and not to the null amongst other problems… for things such as shopping mall karaoke straps!

Has anyone found a script that can squish vertically at each keyframe then return to 100% beteween?
