November 1, 2010 at 11:45 pmHi Mike,
I bought the 7″ TV Logic and I’d like to use it with my 7D throught the DVI conector. I’ve tried with couple of HDMI-DVI adaptors but with not cluk… still not picture on the screen. Could you please, advise me in the adaptors that you use to conect with your 5D?
Thanks!

November 2, 2010 at 4:56 amHi Charlie. It should be fine.I have a mini HDMI from camera to HDMI with DVI connector to go into monitor DVI port.Select DVI on front panel and hit Live View on 5D and presto you have pics.Hit info button on 5D twice and it resizes the image and hides the info.I have not used the TV Logic with a 7D so I cant be sure of your problem but it works fine with 5D MK2.DP6 small HD is a great monitor as well.Nice to have both.

November 2, 2010 at 1:17 pmI have a 7D and the TV Logic, and tried using it with the DVI adapter. I get an image but it’s very crappy low res. Maybe there’s a menu setting in there that’s wrong but I don’t think so. I’m intrigued that others are having success with this monitor with Canons. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks,

November 3, 2010 at 12:32 amHi Mike,
Thanks a lot for your help. I actually bought a new HDMI to DVI-I adaptor and it does work now (although there is no WFM or Vectorscope on the DVI input). The adaptor that I had before it was jus DVI (qithout the I)… The DP6 looks great, and I’d love to have a backup, but have enough toys already and not budget for it.
Thanks for the advise! -

November 3, 2010 at 1:00 amThe monitor says the video signal is 1920×1080.. 60i (Although the 7D is on PAL mode 50fps) the picture has got a very good quality (I would say it’s HD) but it doesn’t cover the whole screen sidewise at any point -(even after pressing the info button)… maybe, because it’s showing the safety black bars on top and botton of the 16:9 video mode, I suppose…??

November 3, 2010 at 1:16 amThank you Charlie for posting back, that’s good to know. I may try some different adapters and see if I have better luck.

March 14, 2012 at 11:29 pmI read somewhere that the TVLogic and DP6 share the same LCD, it was on the internet so it must be true…
The ability to convert HDMI to SDI makes me lean toward the TV Logic. I compared the Swit S-1071F (aka JVC DT-X71F ), SmallHD DP6, IkanVX7e, TVLogic VFM-056WP, Atomos Samurai for my needs over here: https://www.digitalbuilt.com/?p=169
