I am looking at buying a new tripod and head. What I have is okay but was wondering what your thoughts might be. Currently I use Manfrotto 351 MVB2 with a 503 head. Its smooth and easy on the go, great in rough conditions( ie: rock, jungle, bogs, shallow water, etc.) But they are pretty old now and I am looking at whats new…. any ideas

    cheers

The Miller Solos are really nice.

I just got an email from Bogen/Manfrotto touting some new still camera heads, so perhaps they’re about to or have recently announced some video kit, too…

As for me, I love our Sachtler FSB-6 head on carbon sticks with the single-lever legs.

The Vinten AS range is very nice. I just got a new 5AS for my PMW-350 and they are really nice. A 3AS would be good for an EX1 or EX3
