Long scrolling credit question
Posted by Linda O’connell on December 7, 2010 at 2:03 amI have a really long poem that I need to insert as a scrolling credit.
When I insert the scrolling credit it automatically runs for 5 seconds…unless there is a way to adjust it.
5 seconds makes the poem run too fast.
If I try to stretch it, it repeats itself.
If I try to slow motion it, it still runs too fast.
Any ideas?

December 7, 2010 at 2:35 amYou need to change the actual duration of the event in the event properties. Clicking and dragging the event, as you have discovered, causes it to repeat.

I beleive what Nigel means is to change the duration of the Generated Media like this:

Change the 5:00 to 10:00 or 15:00 and then drag the end of the event on the timeline to match the new generated media length.~jr

No worries… at least you responded and got the general idea correct. 😉

December 8, 2010 at 8:14 pmSomewhat related….I haven’t been able to find a way to paste text into scrolling credit. I’d like to prepare long text in WORD & then copy/paste it into a scrolling credit. I don’t want to retype each line into a credit line. Is this possible?
Thanks! -

December 8, 2010 at 8:25 pmRick, after you copy the text from Word/Notepad, etc., click on a blank line in the credit roll and press Ctrl+V.
Don’t right-click or do anything else, just that keystroke. -

Yes, just copy the text, insert a new line in the credit roll and paste the text into it. Vegas will create a new line for each line of text you paste.

December 8, 2010 at 11:55 pmI’ll give it a try – that’s what I get for being a mouse user & expecting right-click paste to work. Thanks!

December 9, 2010 at 3:26 amDon’t worry about it Rick as that strange behaviour has tripped up a lot of Vegas users, me included.
