Logo looks jaggy (& blurred) on dvd
hi all,
I’m finishing a work (corporate work) for a client who want the distribute the product on DVD. He sayes that most of the viewers will see it on computer (and not TV!).
Now I have problems becouse logos don’t look good and the client is really disappointed.I told him that is not possible to look good a dvd (sd 720×576)on a computer monitor (at least 1024×768)..
here my workflow:Shotted and edited in dvcam
lot of 3D stuff inside the project
+ logos and lower thirds
exported all in proresHQ (YUV)
than use compressor to do the dvd encodingLogos (especially the small one at the bottom of the screen (see pics)) keep on seem blurry and a bit jaggy. I did all the scaling in Photoshop not in FCP.
Is it correct what I’m doing?
Please help!

You can’t simply export as Pro Res to get the benefits of the codec. You need to change the compressor in Sequence>>Settings to Pro Res, then re-render the entire sequence, then export a self contained QT at current settings using Export>>Quicktime Movie.

thank-s david for the help,I discovered:
1. If my seq. setting is in dv and I export a reference movie looks bad.
2. If my seq. setting is in dv and I export, with quicktime conversion, in prores is good (better than dv!)
3. If my seq. sett. is in prores and I export a ref. movie the results are quite the same as the second point: I notice some changes in how it renders colors.
Definitively, which is the correct one? My problem still persist.
One more question: If I want to export it for the web is it correct to do as follow:
1. export the project in prores hq in a RGB sequence
2. use compressor to convert it to h264 full quality with deinterlace filter set to SHARP (I triend use ODD option in the deinterlace option tab but it destroy my little logo).Any advice?
