Logic Board Replaced, Can’t Re-Authorize
Posted by Collin Alexander on April 24, 2009 at 2:00 amI had the logic board replaced in my MacBook Pro, and it de-authorized a bunch of stuff, including FCP studio. Adobe After Effects re-authorized no problem with the serial number. But not FCP.
HELP!

April 24, 2009 at 4:26 pmI went through this exact problem a few weeks ago… I wish I took better notes, but I can give you a rough idea of how I fixed it. First, I ran FCS remover https://www.digitalrebellion.com/fcs_remover.htm
Then, I searched through ALL my library folders for anything FinalCut, FCS, or ProApp. All these files went into the trash. Finally, I reinstalled FCS and bingo.
Don’t bother calling Final Cut support. They will charge you $200 to tell you to trash your system preferences.

April 24, 2009 at 6:38 pmThanks for the input. I already spent 3 hours reinstalling and it still won’t take the serial numbers.
I’ll try the FCS remover.
Sigh.

April 25, 2009 at 2:21 amI did the FCS remover and trashed all the files. The installer will not accept the serial number.
