Logging vs Capture Now problems
This problem is driving me nuts:
If I log a clip in the logging/capture window of FCP 5, and then let Final Cut capture it (ie. it rewinds the tape, captures from my in point to my out point), the audio is out of sync by about 1 second of the resulting clip.
BUT if I simply hit play on the camera, and press the Capture Now button, the audio is perfectly in sync in the resulting clip.
My audio has been recorded in 16bit 48Khz and all my sequence and capturing settings match this. It’s PAL footage.
I find it odd and frustrating that it is out of sync when using the logging feature.
Whether it’s a 5sec clip or a 45min clip, this is still the problem.
I looked into the “Capture Offset” setting, but in the Final Cut Pro User Manual, it says this about this setting:“Note: This is not an issue when you capture DV video via FireWire, since both timecode and video data are transferred via the same FireWire cable.”
So it seems this setting isn’t my issue since I’m using firewire…
Any suggestions why I’m having this problem?
