A client of mine has several HDV tapes that have been logged but not captured. They were logged using FCS2 with a Sony HVR-M10U deck via firewire on a MacBook Pro laptop using DV down convert so the logged project is DV. Client wants to capture in HDV on his laptop to an external 1TB firewire hard drive then give me the drive to edit. What is the best way for him to capture this DV logged footage to HDV?
    Thanks for the help.

Select the clips in the Browser, open media manager and create a new project file which is “offline, set to the HDV format shot, and DON”T delete any unused media. Send him that project file in a compressed file if you send it via email.

He then batch captures that project file’s offline clips. Should work fine as long as the timecode matches.
