  Log & Transfer playhead has a mind of its own

  Final Cut 7.03, Mac OS X 10.7.5 Intel Core i5 2.5 GHZ 8 GB RAM
  footage: AVCHD from SONY HXR-NX30 1080p30 24 Mbps

  I am logging and transferring footage from long clips, sometimes an hour or longer, and at a certain point, usually after 15-30 minutes, if I try to reposition the playhead, to review something or go forward, it rebels against me and just keeps jumping further and further down the clip, making it impossible to pinpoint an IN and OUT. Some people have dealt with this by just transferring everything, but I would like to believe there is a better solution… perhaps trashing some prefs or something? This happens even if I eject the folder, close the app and start over: when I call up the camera card folder, it brings back all the names of clips I have been logging (as it should), etc, as well as this terrible glitch.
