I upgraded to Final Cut Studio on one of our G5s yesterday. One of the many items that doesn’t seem to work correctly now is batch capture during log and capture. It always worked properly in FCP HD but now it doesn’t. Here’s what happens 100% of the time in FCP 5. I log the clips and add them to the bin. I select the clips in the bin I want to batch capture and FCP doesn’t do anything. It doesn’t show the capture settings window or ask me to load the tape. So I close out the log & capture window, select the same logged clips in the bin and type ^C (batch capture). Then FCP brings up the capture settings window which I can check and then continue on to load the clips. It was never a 2 step process in FCP HD but now it always in FCP 5. What’s the deal?

I have repaired permissions and dumped FCP preferences. The IO has the latest firmware installed. The deck is controlled via the IO and that part is working OK.

You should not have to close the Log and Capture Window before batching. Something sounds wrong. Since you ditched prefs, I’d re-install FCP.
