  • Log, Capture… but FCP won’t recognize file.

Hi! I am new to Final Cut Pro and to this forum, and excited to be learning the program. I hope I express the following well enough to get help from someone.

I have captured a 4 minute clip from my camera seven or eight times now. I learned how to enter in exact begin and end points for “clip”, and capture it. I know it works; I watch FCP import, and then there is a 1GB file in my scratch folder.

But from there, each time I drag the file from browser into the sequence window, it says, media offline. When I try to import that clip, it says 1 files recognized, 0 access denied, 1 unknown.

I dragged some audio into that sequence window and it worked great. It’s right there. But I can’t get the video into the sequence window. There is a red bar above the timeline, if that’s useful to know in helping me.

Thanks so much in advance for any help.

    Hi,

What settings are you using for capture? For example DV PAL, DV NTSC and HD.

    grafxflow

    grafx that flow!
