  • Log and Capture issue with AVCHD: Only mix down stereo audio

Posted by Mehmet Caglayan on August 30, 2009 at 5:59 pm

    Hi FCP users,
I am trying to log and transfer some AVCHD files using AVCHD plugin. My options are P2 Plugin AVC-intra Apple ProRes 422 and AVCHD Plugin: Prores 422 and AC-3 Audio matrix stereo or plain stereo.
When I transfer the clip it warns me that the audio will be mixed down to stereo. Which kills me. I had dual wireless on and I can’t separate them in the time line. When I try to move my levels both levels go up and down. If I try to delete one channel the other one is gone too.
I checked the camera setting and the audio is not mixed. The wave form monitor shows two separate levels. What am I doing wrong?
    Thanks

I just had the same issue, easy fix.

    In final cut pro:

Modify>stereo pair (uncheck if this is checked)

    -c
