I just “updated” system files which Apple sends to us now and then. When I opened a job in FCP, it indicated I would not be able to open this job in earlier versions on FCP, etc. Not sure if the updates were part of FCP. In any event, when I try to render effects, etc. It get about 25% into the render and I get the process wheel and I have to force quit and shut down in order to open FCP. I’m thinking there is something about those “updates” that is interfering with the render but what and why? I have shut everything down a couple of times but when I try to render, it locks. Any ideas?

    Thanks,

For each 6.0.x update, you have had to update the project to the new version. That’s why you got the warning.

As far as the render problem, it sounds like you have corrupt file some where. When this happens to me, I render the project in sections. When a section is done, I save the project and start with another section. I do this until I find the section that’s having the problem. Then you can find the clip.

Yeah, I since deleted a motion background clip and that seemed to do the trick. Thanks.
