LOCKED LIST?
What is a locked list? im trying to duplicate a layer and now it sais it cannot insert an item into a locked list.

“Locked lists” refers to AE’s internal lists of compositions, footages etc. Those are based on unique ID numbers and if AE is unable to assign an ew such ID to a newly imported or duplicated item, the list becomes “locked”. Your only way out is to exit AE and launch it again.
