    Hi all

I’m pretty new to c4d and modelling and I’m trying to follow this anvil tutorial that’s done in Blender and follow along in cinema 4d.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lITV4F_P4E0

At around 9:15 this guy selects the bottom vertices of the spike and drags them upwards creating a curved bottom – but does it without affecting the top row of vertices….

I’ve tried to play with the settings using soft selection but i’m struggling to get the result I need because as I increase the radius with the bottom vertices selected the top ones creep into the selection and end up being moved.

Hope everything I’ve said makes sense.

Could someone give me an idea on how I could achieve this? Thanks

it’s the same as he does, select the points you don’t want to move (on the top) and hide them (Select/Hide Selected – from the menu or the V key popup Select). Then select only the two points at the end on the bottom and do a Move with Soft Selection at Needle (same as his sharp) and All.
When you want the hidden points back do a Select/Unhide All

Ah briliant! I couldn’t find the hide option!

Works like a charm, thank you very much Brian.
