Location Monitor – Westinghouse Digital L2410NM
I have been looking for a location HD capable monitor to plug into my MacBook Pro and my HVX200.
I just read an article about the “Westinghouse Digital L2410NM Multifunction LCD Display”
I remember last summer some people saying good things about WestingHouse. This is their latest full 1920×1200 capable. Composite, s-Video, YPbPr and HDMI-HDCP, D-sub mini pins..
What makes this interesting is that it is UNDER $400. So if the grip dumps it off the cart, he only has to volunteer for 2 days, not a whole month to pay for it..
But even at 400 bucks, how does it look…? Has anybody had this plugged in yet. I know you can get HDMI to DVI connectors, is HDMI-HDCP the same thing, is YPbPr your basic HD component three plug RCA?

I’m not going to insult your intelligence and assume you do not plan on using it for anything color critical. So based on that assumption, it should work great and sounds like a very good deal. Yes, YPbPr is regular component input. HDCP simply means it supports copy protected HDMI sources (like a Blu-ray player). It will still work fine with regular HDMI and DVI sources.
My personal favorite brand of ridiculously cheap bargain basement LCDs is a company called Sceptre. Might be worth checking out.
