Updated FCP X on 4/11/15 (the update that added Smart Collections). Now prompts “must” update the library but crashes before the task is complete. I’ve tried to ID/remove the offending file but I’m not sure what I’m looking at with the Apple crash report. Where is the problem file highlighted? Any other advice on how to get around this library update? My library is on it’s own drive.

Have you reset your preferences since the update?

Thanks Noah, now I have resent my preferences and I’m still having the same problem. In the short term, there is one particular project I’m trying to open from the non-updating library.

Is there a way to tell what project or file is crashing the program from the Apple report so I can remove it?

Can I make a new library out of just that one project or parts of the non-updating library or maybe even copy it over to a library that updated OK?

The library that won’t update is huge.
