I guess it might be pretty obvious that many fcp users are slowly switching over to AVID . Now the question is …can I install AVID onto the same boot drive as our once friend FCP 6 or 7???
Anyone have AVID and FCP on the same computer??? Do they play nice??

I have FCP 7 and MC5.5 loaded on the same computer. FCP has Boris BCC plugins and so does MC. It’s not like I haven’t had MC give me a beach ball on occasion but I wouldn’t blame it on the 2 apps. I did a 12 minute piece using dozens of hours of footage that I AMAed into MC and never bothered to consolidate. I think this is more likely the cause of the occasional beach ball. It was not enough to warrant any drastic action other than a force quit and restart.

Works fine. Has for years. Just don’t jump to lion.
