Live RAID cloning-how to get MC to ignore the clone?
I edit off a RAID. For safety, I have a clone drive also mounted, with an hourly clone of any changes to the RAID mirrored to the clone. BUT, despite all the prefs that I can think of being pointed to the RAID, MC constantly just starts playing back off the clone – I can see the lights on the RAID are silent, and the clone drive is where the media is playing back from. Obviously this isn’t ideal, and I worry that more important things like bins could be going to the wrong drive, etc. How can I maintain this ‘live clone’ yet tell MC to ignore it?

A number of ways to do this.
You could restrict your user account from reading the clone drive via permissions. While ensuring the cloning software is using an account that does have access.
The other simple solution is to have the cloned content in a folder on the clone drive.
Avid won’t see the Avid Media files folder if it’s not at the root level of the drive.
