Where’s the TC coming form? If you feed it LTC, it will capture it as long as you set it up in the prefs. Download AJA VTR Exchange and test it.
If you have rp188 via SDI, it will capture that too.

I”m using a 2.33 intel core 2 duo Mac book Pro w/ 2gigs ram.
AJA ioHD into the firewire port, G-Raid 1Tb drive into a firewire 800 ExpressCard. I feed it with HDSDI video, AES audio, Trilevel sync and LTC, all from an HD Mobile Unit. My video feed is “Dirty Program” It is one of many records I do for the show. I can see the Timecode in the AJA control panel, and can see it intermitantly in FCP. However when I capture, the Timecode for each clip is 00;00;00;00. I have been working in the non-linear world for 16 years, and I have tried everything I know to make it work to no avail. -

February 16, 2008 at 2:14 amFCP will not do this for you, it’s a limitation of FCP. If you are seeing tc in the Control Panel, you are minutes away.
Download VTR Exchange from AJA:
https://www.aja.com/ajashare/AJA_VTR_Xchangev3.tar
Setup your preferences as to what video format/frame rate and where the tc is coming from in the control panel and then hit capture. VTR Exchange will show you 00.00.00.00, but you will notice after capture the files will have tc. Hopefully, an update to VTR Exchange will fix that little annoyance.

Like jeremy and I have both said.
FCP cannot see LTC time code, it is an apple issue,
you can use VTR exchange to capture the TK as you have indicated.

February 18, 2008 at 3:28 amActually, I capture LTC and a live HD-SDI stream directly into FCP 5.1.4 all the time, but not with an AJA product.
