Live LTC into FCP through AJA io HD
Posted by Curtis Edge on February 14, 2008 at 11:54 pmDoes FCP capture LTC from AJA io HD? I have captured a number of live sporting events using the AJA io HD and FCP 6. I have yet to be able to capture Timecode. I have to select uncontrollable device, because my source is a live feed from a HD TV truck. Can any one tell me how to do this, or is it true that FCP cannot capture LTC?

February 15, 2008 at 2:55 amThere is a device available that will convert LTC into RS-232 timecode. Sorry, but I forget what it’s called or who makes it. It’s been mentioned here on a Cow a few times.

February 15, 2008 at 8:32 pmI will try the VTR exchange, but for some reason i don’t think it will work with a live feed. I purchased one of the U-Boxes, so either way I should finally be able to get Timecode.
Thanks for your help

February 15, 2008 at 10:04 pmFrom what I was reading, it seemd that VTR Emulation was used for capture from cameras. I will try it, but want the U-Box just in case
