live downconversion of 1080 to SD signal
im using a decklink studio card with a sony fx7 connected over the hdmi port, the camera sends a 1080 signal, for monitoring on a sd monitor and waveform-monitor i would like to have the signal converted to SD on the analog outputs of the decklink card on the fly. if the camera is in SD mode the signal is routed to the analog out and i have a live signal but in HD it seems that the downconversion function of the card is not working like it does when editing. any way to get that live downconversion? thanks

Hi Thomas,
During capture, whatever is received on input is passed through to the outputs. This means that if you are capturing HD, the outputs will be HD during the capture process. Once the video has been captured, it is then possible to play it back as SD video. If you capture SD video, the outputs will SD during the capture process.
During capture, it is also possible to capture the HD video as SD video to disk but, because the incoming video is HD, the outputs will still be HD during the capture.
One thing you could try, which I think would work, would be to capture HD video with the Intensity, and connect the composite or S-video output of your camera to the SD monitor. Your camera would preform the SD down conversion and I think it will output HD video via HDMI at the same time as outputting SD video via analog connections.

Thanks a lot Luke now i know what the card does.
sadly the fx7 stops outputting on any other port when the hdmi cable is connected, i have to come up with another solution, maybe a hdmi to composite converter-box and plug that to the decklink hdmi-output.
