I have a Sony HDV camera and I want to do a live capture into Final Cut.
The footage we are shooting is green screen so i figured that capturing through FCP would be the best tool to use since it wont ad any compression to the files like Imovie would.

What should be sequence settings be? I want to get the best quality as possible so I can get the best key. I’ve only ever dumped footage into FCP never shot a live feed so I’m curious to get some suggestions.

oh and I will probably be doing most of my keying in After effects.
    Thanks in advance!!!

Thanks so much for all the info!

Is there any other less costly solutions. I definitely agree that this is something the studio should invest in. However for the time being I don’t believe it is an option.

Since the live capture is not necessary would it be smarter to just invest in P2 cards?

I’m not sure why they are set up capturing live at the moment..all i know is I dont think Imovie is not the proper software to be using when trying to capture clear HD footage to key out.
