List of Must Have Features for FCP X – version 2
If it truly was Apple’s intent to ship this half baked current version of FCP X out at this particular stage, to both satisfy the consumer/prosumer (eg iMovie Pro) and to, at the very least, acclimatize the pro to begin working with the future’s new interface (albeit missing key elements rendering it anything but pro)….then what would it take for the pro’s to buy version 2??
Apple, if you are listening, this may keep your pro base in tact for future sales.
I will start this List of “Must Have” features for version 2:
1)Multicam functionality (state of the art) *or just period

– PSD multilayer
– audio track export interchange (Logic, PT,etc)
– project file handoff (swapping .fcp files, like)
– XML i/o
– “reconnect media” optionthat’s a start, from Walter’s list…..

I’ve thought about the “older format open” issue, and I think as long as FCP7 will run on OSxxx into the future, it’s not a drop-dead for me. BUT, if FCP7 won’t run on OS”KittyKat 2015″, yeah, that’s a non-starter.

I don’t even want to see a new Final Cut Pro until it does everything FCP 7 did. I’m doing my next job on the Avid until that happens.

I’ll just consolidate
– FCP7-like Motion integration (send to motion, motion files as normal clips)
– Ability to work in custom resolutions
– “reconnect media” option
– Multicam functionality (state of the art) *or just period
