    Hello,

I have an effect that I need to do, which is proving to be more challenging than I thought.

I have a group of 60 or 70 little blue dots (20 pixels each) randomly laid out on a single layer in my composition. I need them to liquify (ala Terminator 2 scene, when T2 was smashed to bits, and melted, and moved together again) and move together to form a logo.

I tried using the liquify filter, pixel motion morph, but they aren’t cutting it. Please keep in mind, the dots are in very specific locations, so I can’t use CC Ball Action, or CC Scatterize, or other particle effect.

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thanks

This might get you there. Try adding an adjustment layer over the dots. Use a fast blur with a simple choker. Set the choker so the ball size is mostly the size you want. What happens is the balls will “stick” together when they get close. You could then do something creative to fade that into the logo.
