I would like to make some music videos and to take control of their lip movements. I have seen in Final Cut that you can choose a section of the character and control it while the rest of the picture continues to do it’s own thing. I was wondering if avid had any features that would allow me to do that. I have express pro. Thanks 😀

    Not that i know of.
But with AE you can go a long way. You can animate based on an audio file (So if you have to have a track with lyrics only, otherwise your character starts humming the base drum…)

Just bring these elements in as different layrs so you can animate them indevidually.
AE will give you more options and if you look around, man you can find snazzy lil plugins that’ll allow you to attach a wave file to your lip/moth layer and it’ll primitavly animate to those peaks and vallies, allowing you to just add some emphatic keyframes. This keeps it creative where as lip syncing manually is mondane.
