Linking media in batches
Posted by Victor Camacho guerrero on January 3, 2013 at 3:09 pmHi hello,
I got loads of projects from my former guy working in my job. The premiere projects are a mess. In after effects, the linking media works really well because link in batches, if you select something, it finds as well other files in that folder or related.
The linking media in Premiere works one by one, which makes the process quite a hell.
Is there any way to solve this or work faster?
Many thanks

January 3, 2013 at 3:26 pmSelect all the clips in the project window.
Then right click on the first clip and link.
Rest will follow if in the same folder.———————————————–

January 3, 2013 at 3:37 pmThanks Ann,
it worked, but not totally straighforward. I guess I need to select only the media , if for example I press Ctrl+A to select all, this does not work well. Is this right?
Another thing, I realized is when moving projects across the network and keeping the same structure in the folder, for example moving the root folder to another hard drive, sometimes the files are missing too. I imagine this is because the path are Global and not locally created . Is there any way to change this??
Many thanks

No.
By chance, are you going cross-platform (Mac to PC, or PC to Mac), or if on Windows, are you perhaps going from a non-mapped server location to a local drive?
This is a problem I’ve been doing a bit of side work on — perhaps you could contact me off-forum (see my profile)?
