    Hi folks!

I’ve been trying to achieve this effect
    https://www.instagram.com/p/BRxoMUPFbI1/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link
in cinema 4d. I created a cube array using a cloner and set a dynamics tag for both the cloner and for the object beneath them that should push the cubes up.
I set the follow rotation to 100 so the cubes stay oriented upwards.
The problem I’ve encountered is that the object beneath is pushing the cubes to all directions, but I want them to only move in the Y axis so they stay aligned like in the video.
I tried setting up a connector on slider mode but it will only affect one cube, not all the clones.
If anyone has any idea to get this effect working procedurally, I’d be very thankful.
    Cheers!

you can clone connectors (and springs) by putting the connector rig into a null which goes into the cloner like this

this rig has a slider to restrict the clones in one direction and a spring to keep the clones from bouncing too high when the ball moves through (try disabling or removing the spring) – there’s more than one way to damp the motion but the spring works well.

That’s exactly what I was looking for. Clever use of the spring to damp the motion.
    Thanks a lot!
