  Likely upgrading LHe to ? w/Production Premium 5.5

  Although we had to remove our LHe as we were editing in FCP7 w/HDV footage and encountering crashing (long story), I’m now looking at the best option/card/box that would allow us to hook up a ref monitor (for color correction, etc)and hopefully better utilize the mercury playback engine in PP (like the CUDA cards) for our main workstation (MacPro latest 8core). Is there a one size fits all piece of hardware?

  FYI, We are finishing up a few projects on HDV as we shift to H.264 with Panasonic AVCHD acquisition. I will be editing in H.264, prefer not to transcode to ProRes… We will also have to upgrade our ref monitor to HD. Thoughts?
