    hya,

im trying to use lux lights to light up my scene. I have 3 layers in 3d space. one is a couch, the other is a man sitting on the couch, and the 3d is a tv…. both the couch and the man have a black fill and the view is from behind them, to create the effect of a figure, sitting on the couch watching tv.

what i want to do is create the effect of the light coming out of the television to reveal the man’s figure in a black space…

    is this possible?

I tried messing around with Trapcode Lux to get the look you are talking about and couldn’t quite get the desired result (partially b/c of my lack of experience and partially due to the fact that I don’t know how – or if it’s possible – to make the light square shaped.) However, I think you might be able to fake the look of light coming out of the TV using Trapcode Shine. Check this out (you need to have the Shine plugin to open)… I’m not sure if this is exactly what your going for but maybe you can modify it a bit… Also if you don’t have Shine I included some still frames so you could see what it looks like…
