Hello
shot the interview yesterday and was rushed with the setup used an LED that I attached to my camera for additional lighting – can’t afford to lose this footage as won’t be able to do this interview again- do you think I can get away with how it looks now or is it a write off or can anyone suggest a way of improving it.
did put a face light filter on it
Please ignore sound it was recorded on an H4N, and will be synced up
Advice would be greatly appreciated

The blown-out background contrast can be made a little easier on the eyes by layering two or more identical video tracks, adjusting the highs, lows and mids in each, then adjusting the opacity and blend modes in-between the layers. You can also use a multipoint mask tool around his head and shoulders to separate him from the BH and allow separate adjustments. Are you any goo with the 3-way color corrector in FCP7? How about Apple Color?

Thanks for your response John & Mark will go with Marks suggestion as bit low on funds at the moment – I shall put your advice into action Mark – the mask tool? what is that called within FCP is it under matte? or is it a plugin that I have to download? I’m pretty clued up with Colour Correction

Search for “Paul Crisp multipoint masking tool free.” and you should come up with 8,16,and 32-point versions of the 4-point masking tool.
