You should take a look at Trapcode’s Shine effect. trapcode.com

    Hey Jeffrey,

You can achieve some pretty decent light sweeping effects using the (built-in) Light Rays filter in Motion.

It seems like the Light Rays filter only uses the color of the object it’s applied to and doesn’t allow you to pick a different color. Do you have a workaround for that?

    Thanks!

The only solution I’ve found to changing the color of the rays effect is to use selective color correction filters.

    Thanks.

I played with this a bit and for text, it’s easy enough to make a duplicate of the text and make the background text the color of the rays you want.

With text, I also found that you can fake noise in the rays by filling the text face with a Clouds generator texture. The seething black/white texture breaks up the light rays so that they’re not so geometrically perfect.
