    Hi!

I’m wonder how best to achieve the pressed-metal effect like how license plates are made. Is there a way to take say, 3D text, and push it into the back of a plane, where the other side comes out with rounded edges?

    Thanks!

The best way is sub poly displacement You need Advanced render module though. If you have AR its the last option in the material editor.
If that wont work for you model it with a hyper nurbs and use weighting to get the right curves.

here is an example. I have not done any weighting to the edges.

For a flat object like a license plate you can actually use the old relief object, so AR wouldn’t be necessary.

The Relief is exactly what I was looking for.

    Thanks!
