  • Library will not open after Final Cut Pro update

Posted by Su jeong Kang on March 29, 2019 at 6:04 am

This time, I have Final Cut Pro X updated the version 10.4.6.

When I opened the library after the update,
I received a message that I should convert the png file into mov,
    so I converted it.

Since then, the library won’t open and it keeps turning off.

If I try to open a library from an old version of Final Cut, I can’t open it because it’s an updated library.

The backed up library also won’t open because the library won’t open.

It’s a library I’m working on, so it’s really important.

    Is there any way?

    I could try many ways

    But same.

    Please reply.

    Thank you.

I have never seen FCP X ask me to convert a PNG file to a .mov video file when updating a Library, that even does not make sense.

    To be clear:

    1. You opened the Library, it asked you to update the Library to the newest version and then you got this strange message, is that correct?

    2. You say you converted a PNG file to MOV. Where was that PNG file, and how did you convert it to MOV?

    3. What did you do with the MOV file after the conversion?

Strangely enough, I got a message that I would convert ‘png’ into ‘mov’.
I think it’s because we didn’t import the png file and we dragged it into the project.

After trying many ways to open library on the Internet, I saved the library.
It’s not perfect, but it’s not hard to work.
I don’t think there are many, but I write down the methods I used for people with problems like myself.

1.I’m going to look at the hidden files in the library.

    2.Delete the currentversion.flexible.

3.I opened it in the final cut X of the version before the update
->Although it damaged, I finally opened the library.

4.I opened the backed up library, exported it to the xml of each project.

5.I created a new library, and saved it.

Thank you Ronny for answering my question.
