letterboxed shots
i have some shots from a client that have been delivered as 720 X 486 and in the final cut pro sequence it shows those clips as being letterboxed. when i bring them in to AE they are stretched too tall. i have tried a bunch of diferent settings on the “interpret footage” box and i cant get the clips to sit in letterboxed format. my question is, if i have to make some adjustments to those shots ( fixing backgrounds ) and create titles for them that later go back into the FCP timeline. what format do i work on them in AE ? if i just work on the stretched copies, my titles will look conversely squashed when they end up in FCP.
for the titles:
should i just scale the clips vertically to make them look allright in a 720 X 486 then make my titles to sit on those but export them separately ?
for the BG fixes:
should i just work on the stretched version in AE and trust that everything will get squished back in the FCP timeline ?
