  • Lens on AG-250 through AG-160 / which zoom controller?

Posted by Randy Burleson on April 14, 2011 at 8:51 pm

Jan, or anyone else that knows…

What lens is on the new AG-250-160 line of cameras? Canon or Fujinon?
Trying to figure out which VariZoom controller will work on them.
any ideas? I assume these also have LANC control for zoom and focus right?

    Thanks

I am guessing that you mean the new Panasonic HPX-250 and AC-160 cameras…

I would not buy any controller until these new cameras are close to release, which could be 6 months from now.

Likely these new cameras will have Panasonic lens/iris control circuitry.

yes, sorry that is what I meant.
I won’t buy now, but I am trying to put a budget together.

“Likely these new cameras will have Panasonic lens/iris control circuitry.”

Does that mean no LANC control?

Panasonic has never used LANC, only Sony and Canon do. So you have to buy a focus / zoom controller designed for Panasonic cameras. Lots to choose from at B&H Photo:

Thanks, I should have known that, I think I did and totally forgot that LANC was a Sony/Canon deal.
