Lens Blur and D.O.F.
Hello,
Anyone have any good suggestions about how to get around the hard edge I seem to getting when using AE lens blur and a precomped radial blur to imitate depth of field?
Mr Kramer had a good tutorial on his site but when previewing on HD the blur has a hard edge. I have tried precomping the lot and applying the lens blur effect to the precomp but no joy. Also tried using an adjustment layer for the effect.
any help would be much apreciated.

A little more information would be helpful. Where are you getting the hard edge? Is it at the edge of a layer/pre-comp or on some of the pixel information in the center?
If it’s along the edges of a layer you’ll want to uncheck ‘repeat edge pixels’ and possibly use a Utility > Grow Bounds effect prior to the blur.

apologies for being so vague. The hard edge is actually happening in the middle of the gradient ramp. Where there should be a smoothe blur made from the gradient Im getting a hard edge. Confused? I am.
