  • Length of a Picture in a Slideshow

I’m trying to create a slideshow and change pictures to the beat of the music. I understand that you can establish how long a picture displays in Preferences, but does that set the length that every picture in my slideshow displays for? In other words, what if I want picture #1 to display for two seconds, picture #2 for 4 seconds, picture #3 for 1 second. So every picture may display for a different length of time depending on the beat of the music. Is there a way to edit that on the fly?

    Thank you.

You can turn on Ripple Edit and then manually change the length of each image and the others will slide over to fill in the gaps. That is the easiest way to change the length by hand.

You can also use a tool like VASST Ultimate S Lite to create a slideshow to markers. What you do is drop a marker on all the downbeats and then Ultimate S Lite will lay the images out out at the proper length to fill the gap between the markers/beats. Here is our training video to show you how it works:

After inserting the photo in the timeline, you can move the edge of the photo thumbnail, to the right or left, to increase or decrease the time the photo displays.
