    Hi Everyone,
(This is my first post). I’m looking for an LED simulator I can animate to mimic the scoreboards you get on Pinball machines – so far my searching has turned up nothing – does anybody know if this software exists or if there’s a plug-in for AE?

    Thanks,
    Humble

Creating this is pretty easy. Quickest way would be to use CC Ball action I think it’s called and have it break up the display into lots of tiny balls. You can set the scattering to 0, so that they don’t go anywhere.

    Hope that helps

another method I’ve used is fractal noise with high contrast, then use mosaic or similar effect to get the shape I want.

tip: make a seperate comp of JUST the led display, then bring that comp into your video timeline… this way you can make changes to the LED later with ease, and also position/rotate your led display if you need to.
