Hello – I’m not as experienced in the colour correction side of our work & would appriciate some pointers on helping me around the following problem:

Leaving junk matts & masks as a final option is there a way to expand the range of colour selection on the enclosed picture that would enable me to remove the grass that is being picked out in the video via the yellow that I have chosen?

    https://img122.imageshack.us/img122/4021/picture1mj4.png

All the 15 or so clips have grass in shot so when I pick up the yellow of the car it also brings the grass strip with it. I have enclosed the settings of H&S & LC on the image for reference.

Doing a search I see people suggesting Change Colour, Change to Colour (I’m a brit btw, hence the u in colour! 😛 ) & duplicating the VT creating matts etc but they don’t cover the stage I have got too. I think I need to find a way to expand the yellow range & narrow the range down so I can pick up on just the car. Or do I have other options?

    TIA

Could you bring up the green/cyan, choosing a greenish yellow in the Hue/Sat to apply this to the grass, then choose the car’s yellow, which might now be safe, since you took the yellow out of the grass?

This one is near impossible without rotoscoping.

The color at the bottom right of your car – the area between the front and back tyres are near identical to most of the grass. I managed to get everything out except for that said area.

And you should crunch the two pillars closer together so that you select purer yellows.

Looks like some rotoscoping is in store. But you’re lucky in that the shapes are not organic.

    Cheers
