LCD refresh rates – a myth?
With CRT monitors it is important to have a frequency that is compatible with frame rate (ie 75Hz for PAL at 25 fps).
But is it true that frequency rate is irrelevant for LCD monitors?
I am thinking of buying a 24″ LCD (1920×1200) to work via DVI with my RT.X2 / Premiere Pro system. Nearly all monitors seem to have a naitive frequency of 60Hz. I’m told that even if a manufacturer boasts 75Hz, the additional 15 are ignored anyway – and that you are better off leaving it set to 60Hz, even if you are working in PAL land.
I would really appreciate someone clearing this up.
