Activity Forums Adobe Premiere Pro LCD refresh rates – a myth?

We own a monitor (LH1760) from Panasonic that has a 120 Hz refresh rate. It uses black insertion.

It does make a difference in high motion scenes, but is also gets flickery in more static scenes due again to the black insertion. And don’t forget that unless your camera shutter is set that high, you likely won’t see a difference anyway.

The bottom line, unless you are spending some serious money on a broadcast monitor, and you do a lot of high speed sport shooting, you probably shouldn’t worry about it.

Thanks Vince. I’m considering a fairly low cost Dell Ultrasharp 2408 (A01 revision) for use as a client monitor. For DVI input it fixes the frequency at 60Hz and can’t be adjusted.
