Laying to tape ISSUES… WHYYYY!!!??
I am trying to perform a simple “master to tape”.
My FCP version is 6.0.1 and I am using a Macbook Pro. I am using a Sony HVR-V1U to export, it is connected through firewire.
The first time I set up my camera to read the timeline, I had no problems. I layed the entire sequence to tape.
The sequence and material were edited in HDV, but my tape presets in camera were set to “record to DV”. Again the first time around I had no problems.
I changed my camera settings so that I could record another version of the edit in HDV. Now the camera does not read the timeline, even when I reset to the the original “record to DV” settings.
Any suggestions on what the correct settings are so that my camera can output to both DV and HDV??

Sounds like your first tape was DV?
Then you would change the FCP preset to match your HDV output.
