    Hello,

i have a problem with Layer Mode.
Maybe sombody could give me a helpfull advice.
    I work on a 64-Bit System and AE CS4.

I work with a precomp in a Composition.

In this Precomp i have a Effect_Quicktime_Movie rendered on a black
Background. ( This Effect_Movie is rendered from AE )
I switched the Layermode of this Effect Movie to lighten, to make the black background transparent.
In the Precomp this works fine.
But when i put the precomp in a new Comp, the layer mode has to be here in normal mode, because of the other layers in the precomp.
The black Background is visibel again.

The funny thing about that is, when i do the same with a other Effect_Movie that was rendered with Particel Illusion, the Problem didn´t occour. O_o

    Hello Dave,

thank you for the answer, this is right.
the second movie has a alpha.

my problem with the effect_movie rendered in ae.
is that i use trapcode_particular and i can only see the
    effect when there is a background-layer ( colored-layer, layer with picture-information ) beneath it.
so i can not produce a alpha only for the particulars.

do you know a trick, with that i can produce a alpha for the particulars ?

    thanx
