I was trying to do a simple particle effect where the particles form a logo, here is the video I used as a tutorial, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yCRm_50vAJA&t=215s

For whatever reason it refuses to work. Everything goes fine until I set the emitter from point to layer (3:22 in the video) , when I try to select the layer from which to emit the particles nothing happens. I checked all of the settings a dozen times, reinstalled and uninstalled Trapcode, cleared cache, played with the seed, and tried different layers in different files. I can probably send the file over E-mail if necessary.

Hi Ray, I suspect you probably need to set the birth rate extremely/ridiculously high – it emits from the whole layer including the alpha.

So would that be the particles/second? I have that set to 25000 and I’m still not seeing any particles.

Have a try at more – he suggests 300.000!

Yeah still nothing. And I mean no particles being generated at all, not invisible ones or anything like that because my pre render is too fast for there to be any particles, certainly not 300,000.

    Hey Sailor!
