Layer Blending Mode
Posted by Robert Mrozowski on May 10, 2007 at 3:22 pmI can’t seem to get the layer blending modes to work.
I tried everything but nothing happens.
Any thoughts?

May 10, 2007 at 3:33 pmAlso certian blend modes don’t react to certain elements…example of this is a solid white layer with add used will still be a solid white layer. If you need an explanation of this just ask and it will be provided..

May 10, 2007 at 3:37 pmI’ve tried multiple layers. I even reinstalled AE. Very strange. I wonder if I have failed to turn something on.

May 10, 2007 at 3:53 pmDave and Mark,
I’m testing right now. I have three layers, all tiff images one has an alpha matte.
No matter what mode choose, nothing happens.
It has to be something really simple that’s wrong.

May 10, 2007 at 5:43 pmDo the Blending modes not work with other types of files, jpeg, move, png, etc? Is this just a Tiff thing or is it out of wack for all layers no matter the type?

May 10, 2007 at 5:44 pmThanks for giving it a shot.
It always turns out to be something simple in the end.

May 10, 2007 at 7:33 pm[sam.mltn] “turn off openGL acceleration. it is set to always on.”
…and then try using a more dramatic blending mode like Linear Burn or Hard Mix if you really want to test it =)
Double check the opacity of the underlying layers as well. My money is on some sort of OpenGL related issue though.
