Is anyone using builds 510 and 511 with no (or at least not as many) problems? I read a thread when the new builds came out that some were having problems with the keyframes not keeping their right positions after saving a project.

I have downloaded both files but have been reluctant to install them due to the additional problems listed when the releases came out.

I have ordered Cakewalk Sonar X1 and will be installing it to do my audio work on until Vegas gets fixed enough to run without getting the dreaded (VEGAS has stopped working) message. I was wanting to get a much needed upgrade to my sequencer software anyway…so this gives me the incentive to take care of both problems.

I could understand Vegas having bugs with the video portion and hanging up occasionally but audio should not be near as intensive (or so I would think)…and getting this STOPPED WORKING message every little bit is getting really old.

So…is anyone having any luck running 510 and/or 511 successfully?

It has been working fine for me.

    No bugs that I’ve noticed.

    No crashes.

All my plugins work as they should.

Everything does. Albeit I am experiencing a curious issue with rendering when my dynamic ram preview is > 256MB.

Otherwise, Vegas is a dream to work with as always.

And much to my surprise and delight, it even works with Ram disks. Woohoo! No more drive lags!

Thanks for the response Dave. I may go ahead and do the updates and see what happens. I do think I will save all my projects with a different name while using the updated versions just in case I do run into any problems…although I’m not sure why since I’ve been having trouble with the “Sony has quit working” error message anyway. 🙂

    No worries.

Yeah, 511 has been going good for me.

Only word of caution (if you haven’t used VP11 yet) is once you save a file in Version 11 format, it can’t be used in a previous version of Vegas. So definitely make sure you create a backup copy first before saving it in Vegas 11.

Good luck! Let us know how you go.

Build 511 is a disaster and keyframes is the problem. I haven’t tried it yet in track motion – but in pan/crop it doesn’t work. Not only that, when you try to fix it the cursor jams, starts to flash and crashes SV.

Is Sony kidding? I can’t finish my projects – someone should start a class action suit against these guys.

Does anyone know how to go back to a previous build?

You go back to a previous build by having the archive saved somewhere and reloading it.

Can’t believe you’re having those problems. I would try reloading it. Nobody I know personally nor myself have had any issues like that with the 64-bit release on Win 7.
