I am looking for the latest firmware updates for the following cameras
    Ex-1R, EX-3, pmw 320.

Also where to send the cameras for the updates. Surely there is somewhere else beside the New Jersey or California service centers.

    Thanks

    Ronnie

If they have to come in for any reason they will need to go to NJ or CA.

These can all be user-updated and should not need to come in unless there is a problem. Firmware and instructions are below.

AFAIK, v1.3 is the latest for the EX1 & 3. I had my EX1s updated earlier this year and they had to be done by SONY. I usually send my gear to Macie Video and they’re the ones who gave me the sad news that this update can render your camera a brick and even Macie would not perform the update.

Seems like other versions are on the Sony site.

Thanks so much guys…. All three of my cameras are performing solid.
I just want to be sure that I can use the new 32/64 gig SXS-1 cards.

    Current firmware :
    Ex-1R 1.10
    EX-3 1.15
    PMW 320 1.01

One other question: Where do I go to get the instructions on how to perform the updates?

Anxious here !!! I have read so many horror stories… I sure don’t want to take a chance on screwing up.

    Thanks

I just get in my car and drive for 20 minutes to Top – Teks at Harefield, near Uxbridge. They are brilliant at doing updates.

Sent my camera to Sony in CA, as Ian directed. I would not feel comfortable doing any updates myself, regardless the similarly of it, when it comes to firmare. Sony cleaned it, updated it my ex1 to latest firmware v1.30, and shipped my ex1 back in about a week, and I popped in a 64 gb and a 128 gb card, and they read and recorded just fine. I also popped in my $24 sxs Digigear adaptor and my $29 64 gb transcend sdxc card, and it right pulled up, read and recorded just fine.
