what was the last version of FCP to work with OS 10.4.11??

I’m running Composer 2.7.2 with this OS on the G5 (that is shared for FCP) and it’s been very stable, rather not be forced to upgrade OS to 10.5.5 for FCP 6.0.6

Is there a grey area on the net where a registered user can find these oldish FCP patches?
Specifically 6.0.3 The torrent sites you get with Google are a scary hall of mirrors. LimeWire turns up cracked version I don’t want

    Thanks,

    Paul

    Probably FCP 5.1.4.

FCP 6.0.6 requires QT 7.5 I believe and you should not run that QT version on that old of an OS.

this is great news Michael. Anyone know where I might find Quicktime 7.5 for Mac (not 7.5.5)

    Thanks,

    Paul

Since I didn’t want to go higher than OS 10.4.11, I proceeded cautiously on the FCP upgrade. Did my Quicktime upgd first to the current version 7.6 then via Software Update did the Pro Apps upgrade which was confusing since it didn’t even list FCP. But in the end FCP got upgraded (that way) and I seem to be ok running FCP 6.0.6 as desired. Thanks for the help.

Hi I’ve been reading up and have one question_are you still running 10.4.11 FCP 6.0.6 and QT 7.6.4 without any issues. Just recently updated to these specs…Thanks!

I’m running FCP 4.5 and QT 7.6.4 on a 1.67 G4 PowerBook. No problems even with only 1GB ram. I would like to run FC Studio and use 2GB ram. Is Final Cut Studio 2 too much for this system?
Thanks to all for making this such a useful site.

    Hi
    Err…?
For a Mac? Its just ‘works’ like everything in Mac-land. 😉
