HDV shot with a Z1. Had this issue before, also with the last shot on tape… Just tried to Abort Capture Now before the end of the clip and FCP crashed. (also a question which has been on my mind: why does FCP give a General Error message when aborting Capture Now. Usually the captured material comes in perfectly…)
Anyone recognize this issue? Any suggestions?

    Thanks,

    Wolf

Update: clip captured fine after recording some more on the same tape. Guess it’s some kind of a timecode issue…

Probably capturing too close to the end of the media, not leaving enough post-roll.

    All the best,

Wolf- Tom is right. Not enough post roll. Have you noticed when you digitize HDV from the Z-1 or a Sony HDV deck that there is a delay…. the camera/deck LCD is 1-2 seconds ahead of what is showing in the log and capture window. We always watch the LCD when marking our ins and outs.

Thanks, guys, but this shot lasts 46 seconds and is captured using Capture Now. This shouldn’t be an issue, right?
